    Business Licenses?

I currently buy my feeder rats from a wholesale rodent breeder. Today I received a notice that states:
"We are requesting a copy of all of customer's business licenses. This is for the purpose of not having to charge Sales Tax. We as a wholesaler can sell our product to anyone who has a current business license and not have to charge sales tax."

Does anyone know what kind of business license I need? Could I just get a DBA or do I need a full blown state business license?

Something as simple as a tax ID number should be sufficient in this case http://www.register-ein.com/?gclid=C...FUiW7QodOVr4KQ
