question regarding moving from one set up to another...

i'm brainstorming my girls adult set up and just had a couple Q's.
i know new snakes need a week or 2 to settle in before any handling/feeding is done but do they need that settle in time when moved from one set up to a bigger one? the size changes would only be from the current 30" x 12" x 12" to a
36" x 19" x 12". not much difference there but i was just wondering if i would have to wait any length of time before feeding my girl in her new, bigger cage.

    0.1 dutch rabbit (Lucy)

Some snakes will need a week to adjust and others seem to adjust in just a matter of a few days. I say you can try to feed her after just a few days and see what happens. Every snake is different. Just see what works for you and your snake and take it from there.

I'd just move her two days after feeding, and then she'll probably be good to go by the next scheduled feeding. Worked for my girls

I've moved snakes into new enclosures and offered food the next day and they've all taken it. It will depend on the animal of course, but it shouldn't be too bad. They'll explore for a day or two and they're usually good after that.

    thats exactly what i figured...
set up the new cage's heat pad & thermostat & all the other stuff & while that's going, feed the snake in her current cage, let her digest it then move her into new cage and she wouldnt need to be fed for a week or so which would be the time i'd give her to settle in.

    thx everyone.

    oh another Q:
the adult cage will be 36" L x 20" D (outside dimensions) but my dresser is only 17" D...i dont have anything else that'll fit the depth of that cage...would it be a bad idea to allow for that 3" hang off if its over the back of the dresser & not the front? there's a wall behind the dresser that could support the cage so it's not gonna drop off...
i have future plans for a 3 shelf unit but it's gonna take quite awhile to gather all the supplies needed to build it.
