Exclamation Rainbow Boa head stuck in clear masking tape!!!

I left my new baby boa at home today and left her in her new enclosure. when I got back 6 hours later. her head was wrapped up in tape. thankfully her nose wasnt covered but her jaw was crooked in the tape and it was over her eyes. i cut it a little and slowly peeled it off. I slowly but surely got it off of her. her eyes seem ok, and her scales are a little ruffled but she seems otherwise ok.
Should she be ok? Im keeping her in an enclosure of entirely "Forest Moss" from exo-terra with two hides.

Why was there tape in the enclosure??

Keep an eye on her... She might be fine, but you need to keep an eye out for her acting funny... And don't put tape in enclosures again, snakes can very quickly die from getting stuck on tape, you were very lucky!

Yup NEVER leave tape inside the cage and I agree with pruple you are very lucky that she/he didn't die and what I'm guessing ur using tale to keep the lid locked in if you are it won't hurt to buy clips I hope you learned ur lesson

The only thing I would add to what others have said is it might be a good idea to bump her humidity until after her next shed to ease the shedding process in any affected areas.

I was using the tape the secure the cords of the probe and the regulator to the side of the tank. I didnt think that it could get stuck in it. but I have learned my lesson and I wont be putting tape in ever again.
She seems ok this morning. Even the places her scales were messed up look better.
    Im still watching her though
    Thank you for the advice

If something like that ever happens again, (which it shouldn't) use olive oil, works like a charm!

Re: Rainbow Boa head stuck in clear masking tape!!!

    Hi,

And a hot glue gun is an excellent way of tacking down wires, probes etc with no risk to the snake.

Hot glue gun is a awesome idea. I don't know why I never thought of that. Thanks!
Is my tank ok btw? Is it ok if its just a bunch of moss and two hides? Is it too wet?
