I have never seen a bumble bee that looked like that. He almost looks like he has some piebald in there. Defenitley unique.
Can't stop with just one!

With those head markings and color he looks like a normal spider with some of the worst burns I've ever seen. Sometimes scars heal white, but that is really extreme. Glad to see he has recovered though and that you enjoy him!

Re: Showing off Phineas my weird bumblebee
You guys are correct in that the white going around his body back by his tail are scars. The person I purchased hime from said that they are burns from another snake regurging on him while in transit to/from a show.
Everything else is normal scales.

You can see the scar line, that dark line midway up the body that is wrinkled looking. It goes along the entire body. His burns are more extensive than just that part on the back unfortunately.

Re: Showing off Phineas my weird bumblebee
something about those dark colored scales along the sides screams super severe burn, but the white just looks to me like some kind of very oddly unique high white situation...not burns.
if all of the white is the burn then dear lord i wonder how that creature survived?!?! it just doesnt add up.
the scales down the sides from the head to the tail look like they were the burned ones at one point and unless the other snake was regurging acid, theres no way it would/could do that much damage, right?
i'm no professional so if i'm completely wrong then that animal needs to be renamed miracle if it were a girl anyway.

Re: Showing off Phineas my weird bumblebee
definitely a burn. a regurge cannot cause damage like that. snakes stomachs dont have as strong an acid as humans stomach. that is a burn from a negligent owner at one point, or his skin was eaten off by a rat. either way glad he is alive and its a shame he had to suffer in order to get to where he is. glad he is with an owner that is taking care of him properly...kudos to you my friend.
