Does anybody know anything about a Biosound Genesis 2000D ultrasound machine? also any information about how to use it on ball pythons like follicle sizes ect would be great too.

    Re: Ultrasound Machine

    Hi,

Did you have any luck with the info I provided the last time you asked this exact same question about another model by the same manufacturer?

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...light=biosound

In fact why did you buy a second ultrasound machine?

    Are you re-selling these things?

If so you can find your own manuals unless I get a cut of the profits.

And watch the snake bytes video where they use an ultrasound or the MAballs NERD video where they use one to find the BP specific stuff - or use the search function. All that info is already on the site.

    Re: Ultrasound Machine

No luck on the last one they would not reply to me I sent them several emails. So I bought another one that says it comes with everything including manuals. I went with a similar model so that hopefully I can use the other one for parts if needed. I just figured maybe someone on here might know something about them. I have watched all the videos I could find but it never hurts to ask for help some body might post something new.

it all depends on the probe, the higher the hertz the clearer the image. The depth you'd want is shallow 100 or less, and deeper then your just looking at and inside organs. Contrast and all that is on the fly as your reading. Probe hertz, the higher the better.

Why don't you go to your vet and talk with the vet tech they have and see if you can hire them for an evening to show you how to use the unit correctly? That is their job they will know and I bet 200$ will bring them over.

    Re: Ultrasound Machine

I just found this site yesterday. Evidently $30 gets you all the answers to your questions ...

    http://lavenderalbino.com/Home_Page.php

... I haven't bought the video, but might do so once I buy an ultrasound next year. I'm sure the settings are pretty straightforward, and I'd imagine the technique is too, but I haven't been able to find much information on how to use the information gleaned (follicle size and number) to plan breedings.

Unfortunately you may or may not be able to find a vet tech who is skilled at ultrasonography to show you the ropes -- many private practices hire outside ultrasonographers to come in once to a few times a week, and don't own their own unit, so their techs may not be trained in how to use it.
