    Petsmart rescue

    http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/show...mageuser=22497

Here is zoiee. My sister and I rescued this little girl from petsmart today. She is very small and possibly dehydrated. The tank she was in said 20% humidity. She was white between the scales on her head. I offered her a f/t mouse fuzzy, but she has not taken it yet. I plan to leave it in over night and see if she takes it. She looks like she hasn't eaten since hatching. She is very thin and small. Her skin feels loose when you pick her up. If she doesn't take three mouse should I assist/force feed or just wait a few days and try again? Any advice would be welcome.

I would get her set up with proper temps and water and make sure she is secure, warm and hydrated before even offering food. If she is so sick she is going to die, then there probably isn't anything you can do, but offering food to a stressed snake increases their stress and makes it harder for them to get to a point where they would be capable of eating and digesting properly.
I love what I love. Forever. Don't expect that to change.

She took it. Must not have wanted us to see. She was drinking after I put her in. I hope she pulls through I will keep everyone posted on her progress.

I added your photo for you. I agree. Get the temps and humidity going and wait for about a week with no handling. Just provide fresh water and spot clean, if necessary. Then offer a meal after the snake has settled in.

It's good that she ate and is drinking. Now, the best thing that you can do is let her settle in for a few days, and then take care of what looks like some stuck shed, unless she gets it off herself. Congratulations.

She ate another mouse fuzzy. She still won't eat in front of us. I just left it and it was gone not ten minutes later. She doesn't go in her hides, but she seems content. She has plumped up since we brought her home. She was exploring earlier tonight, so we got her out for a while. She is friendly and curious.

If you all keep buying from petstores like that they will only get more snakes, so you are not helping the snakes if you buy there.

Better get a snake from a good breeder

I agree... You're not rescuing.. You are enabling.

    Re: Petsmart rescue

Congrats on your new snake, though I wouldn't call buying a snake from Petsmart a "rescue".
