Finally! - bit by an adult bp

I've been waiting for this day for quite some time. I've been keeping ball pythons since August of 2007 and until today, I had never been bitten by an adult ball python. I've been bitten by babies a few times and an adult "tagged" me with a single tooth. It barely grazed my skin so I didn't count it as a bite.

My sister came over to hang out for a little while and wanted to see the spider female she used to have. (started out I had her to breed for her, then she gave her to our friend, but she's still here for breeding) I reach in to show her how much one of the other snakes has grown and he tags me good! He lets go and immediately I'm dripping blood on the floor. It barely hurt (hurt more when I washed it) and I'm glad I finally got it over with. I've been wondering what it would feel like. I'm uploading a picture of the bite, after cleanup. (sorry no blood ) You can barely see the teeth marks, but with as much blood as there was you'd think he'd split my finger open.

Can't blame him though. Today is feeding day. He was probably saying to himself "What no rat? Well take that! That'll teach you not to bring me my food!"

The reason you actually see two lines of teeth is because instead of biting once and letting go, he bit, readjusted (giving me two bites instead of one) and THEN let go.

Welcome to the club... Just wait until you get one that doesn't let go. PS. They always seem to do it in front of someone.

I've never been bitten, per se, but just the other day I was eye level with my Spider and she decided to tag me straight on the nose. Luckily it was a closed-mouth strike.

Congratulations! Fingers just BLEED A LOT, don't they?

I get bitten once a month or so, mostly because I drop the mouse and am too dang lazy to fetch either the hemastats or the gloves. It's still mostly babies, but my black pastel once tagged me so hard he couldn't pull the left side of his lower jaw off my finger without help. I think he was more freaked than I was.
