    kitten & baby?

anything i should know about the proper interactions between a 2 month old baby and a potential new kitten? (we're gonna be getting a kitten today from a friend.)
obviously supervision will be key to keep the kitten from play fighting with the baby's flailing limbs but what else?
is cat saliva bad for babies? like if the kitten decided to try to clean the baby's face and accidently licked her mouth? i imagine it would be good practice to not let the cat lick the baby's face or ours since they clean themselves.
i'm also using exquisicat pine pellet litter instead of the traditional clay crap.

I had a young cat at the time my daughter was born, The cat pretty much left her alone, by the time my daughter moved from the craddle to the crib (about 3 months old). My cat would jump into the crib when it was bed time for the baby. She bacame my daughters bedtime cuddle buddy.

Of course this freaked my mother out when she would visit, all the old wives tales and all.

Just keep an eye out in the beginnig, the kitten will probably want nothing to do with the baby

i hope so, haha. i know kittens can be a little ADHD sometimes killing anything and everything that dares to move. and they have the sharpest claws and teeth...and will use them indiscriminately in those "battles".
my hands are covered with scars from many of those little fights.
the last cat we had got wise to the wiggling-hand-under-the-blanket game and would swipe a paw under it, slashing at my hand or latching some claws into my skin and dragging my hand out so he could bite it.
i've even had kittens climb me as if i were a tree, just so they could perch on my shoulders.
why i didnt stop them is beyond me, haha.
