Talking Going to check out a corn snake today!

So my friend's sister is moving to Australia (LUCKY!!) and can't keep her corn. With the reputation that I have locally as the "snake lady", I was naturally the first person they asked. Being as I am, completely spineless when it comes to snakes, I said yes, I'd buy it off of them, and I'm going to go check it out today and pay for it if she looks good.

    Here's what I was told:
She's a female, about three feet long, feeding on F/T, and is "grey with some yellow". My first thought was anery, but I haven't seen any pictures yet, so only time will tell.

It looks like this is going to be my introduction into the colubrid world! What do you all think? Any tips (aside from having the right husbandry, which is going to be a breeze compared to BP's)?

It sounds like it's likely to be an adult anery, but you never know. It could be a ghost or even a charcoal with some yellow on it. Corn snakes are awesome and very easy to care for. I will also say they are very addictive! With so many affordable colorful morphs available coupled with easy care, it's very easy to get carried away. I know I'm hooked!

Alright, after seeing her I know she for sure has anery in her because of the coloring, but her pattern and her clear belly are actually looking like a motley so I might have found myself an anery motley corn, total sweetie, and a bunch of supplies for $150. *pats self on back*

I didn't get any pics, but she's coming home on Monday so I shall get some then

Way to go girl, my King is the most awesome snake out of the 3 I have. I'm looking at Pueblan milks at this point as well. The boas a little too feisty for me at this time although I will break it. I'm still letting it get into the feeding groove and acclimation to it's new pad. So what kind of stuff are you getting along with the corn?

Awesome, just keep working on her, patience is key

Along with the snake, I'm getting a heat pad, a heat lamp (that I'm probably never going to use), half a bag of substrate, a hide, a nice climbing branch and a good size bowl. It's a pretty good deal given that most of the reptile supplies up here run pretty expensive at retail.

Either way, I'd have taken her without the stuff because I feel bad for her. Apparently the family that had the snake before the family I'm getting her from actually had the snake's fangs removed because they thought it was a danger to their five year old and four year old but she eats F/T fine. I'd just rather be the one to end up with her because I know I would take care of her...
