I'm not sure exactly how that would affect the BP, but I do not recommend it. That's not a natural prey item for a BP. Stick to mice and rats.

Specialized egg-eating snakes will eat eggs, then regurgitate the shell. In other snakes, I think this might pose an impaction risk.

Definitely avoid it. 1 - that's not really a normal diet for them, and 2 - you have no idea what diseases are on that egg.

Re: can i feed an egg
Hi,
I wouldn't.
Where did your friend find this egg?
If it was in a nest and he removed it then he shouldn't have.

For the little bit of nourishment a BP would get from that egg if it could and would eat it you would be taking one heck of a risk. Robin eggs are small anyway, and you don't know what kinds of diseases it might be carrying. A robin's normal flora would be different from a ball python's, and it might introduce something into your snake's system that is not harmful to robins but can make the python very sick.
Egg eating snakes are specialized. Their ribs contract in such a way that they crush the egg almost immediately after it is swallowed. There is no telling if a ball python would do this, or if the eggshell would puncture it's guts--egg eating birds have evolved to handle these sharp fragments. Ball pythons might not have the means to do this.
A mouse or rat is cheap. It's not worth risking your snake's health for what you might save by feeding him an egg instead of an appropriate rodent. When you think about how much vet bills can run or the price of possibly having to replace a snake it's kinda silly to take that chance for the opportunity to save the price of a mouse or rat.
