    Preferred Eating Method

My question must have disappeared from last nights forum problems. But I've been thrilled so far with my first BP's eating habits. He eats like a pig. I've fed him with prongs, and i've fed him by putting a f/t in a tiny plastic container.

My question is, which one is preferred? Or is there no preference? I like the container one better, because 1. I jump whenever he strikes at the f/t on the prongs and 2. It conditions him when he see's the container, he knows its dinner time, and he doesn't think that anytime else (in theory).

My only conern with the container, is that he may lose that "killer" hunting instinct, if food is just given to him, like that. I don't know, that may just be silly.

    Thanks for the help.

Do whatever works for you at the time, there are no wrong ways to feed. You want the bp to eat. They never lose the ambush predators they are so don't worry about it.

    Re: Preferred Eating Method

Snakes will never lose that instinct. It is something that is instilled in them no matter what you do.

As for preference, it's all up to you. I feed mine live. Have for 8 years. I could switch to FT, but keeping them in the freezer wouldn't fly with the wife.

    Edit: crap, i was ninja'd

Yeahh I'm not allowed to touch my freezer at home too.. which sucks since all I can get live here is mice and not rats. But I do prekill them (both for the mouse's quick and hopefully painless death as well as my snakes safety). I hate keeping mice and since its mice I have to keep alot cos I need to feed a couple at least to each snake every week.
