There really is no way to definitively know the answer. If you have the means, it's worth a try though.

That's what I love about tubs. They are so cheap relative to glass tanks.

Very nice rack knox!! It's similar to what I'd like to have in the future. Right now I'm using a metal shelving unit with thin wood panels to cover the top and bottom of the shelves, but I really like how yours looks. I actually have my adult female bp in one of those 110 qts. If you don't mind me asking, about how much did just the materials cost? And what type of lumber did you use for the legs?

The legs are 2x4s, routed 1/4" to accept the 3/4" plywood. You could also just use shelf ledgers made of 1/2 inch material.

The 2x4s are cheap - around $2.50 for each. I bought 2, and had them cut to 3' 11" (to get 2 equal lengths out of an 8 ft 2x4).

The 3/4" 4'x8' sheet of plywood was around $37. I got 4 shelves out of this. The shelves are 36 1/4" x 19 1/4".

So I spent about $42 for the shelf material, not including screws.
The tubs were $13 each from Big Lots.
