breeding Mollies or platies and semi community 30 gal tank
Main objective in this tank is breeding a fun safe supply of feeders for my 2 year old texas cichlid. i plan on planting the tank and decorating it as i wish also looking into a aftermarket t5 light.
my questions are what is the breeding cycle every 23 days? or so i have heard
i plan on haveing at least 10 livebearers and still dont know what specific kind yet? looking for input thanks.

Is it a 30 gallon tank? If so, I'd look into a pair of Convict Cichlids. They will breed easily, and you can raise the young to various sizes.
If you're absolutely convinced that livebearers are the way to go, I'd say platy because molly don't breed as well in full freshwater.

ya i have bred convicts and they are cool but i like the options i have with a live bearer tank. convicts are dull in my opinnion but to each its own. . .
I also have another question im looking for somthing to toss in my tank with my adult texas cichlid. he is about 2 years old and was raised with oscar convict and jack dempsey but after 2 years i decided he should be solo. and no i am lookiing for somthing. maybe a redtail cat? or pacus?

Yeah mollies are a lot harder to breed. I had a lot of fun breeding guppies and platties. They breed like wild fire, and you can keep guppies and platties together.
