A little concerned....

My female albino (young snake) managed to consume some aspen while eating last night. Should I be overly concerned or will she just pass it out.

I think I will either move her to paper or feed in another tub going forward - don't want to have to worry about this again.

What do you guys think.

As long as the snake only got a little bit of the substrate she will be just fine. Snakes digest hair and bones without any issues so you should be just fine. Just make sure none of the substrate is still stuck in her mouth, this could lead to problems.

Thanks for your input. The kind of aspen I use is really finely shredded so it wouldn't have any large pieces.

I will double check her mouth - I was letting her be since she just ate - didn't want to cause stress and have her regurge.

Just keep an eye on her and make sure she defecates normally, which should be about monthly. BP's don't go very often but if she doesn't go for like 2 months straight then a visit to the vet may be necessary.

You should not be concerned.

There is no need to change your substrate. If it worries you, dry the prey item out before feeding her.
