    I said I'd post a couple pics.

My nieces and nephews were over to visit and of course they needed to play with the snakes. We were busy and only had time to take out Caramel. I put up old pics of the same kids with the same snake from a couple years ago.

This is from 2 years ago:

This is from a week and a half ago....

Great pics! The kids really look like they're enjoying themselves and the snake looks pretty content. Glad she's so cooperative for you.

Re: I said I'd post a couple pics.

Thanks! All my bloods and short tails are pretty tolerant of handling - I don't do a lot of it, but they are fine when I do. That one is my favorite for educational events - she had just done a pet expo the day before, and has done many others over the past few years. She's not the reddest blood, but makes up for it with her extra calm demeanor. I say 'she,' but this one might be a male. It was probed as female multiple times, but the tail is a little 'full' looking and I was never able to breed her. I still go with 'she' because it's what I've said for 8 years, and at this point I have no plans on breeding her because of her color.

I trust that I can read her very well now and she's quite predictable. There's almost no head shyness whatsoever. It's hard to believe that this snake bit me numerous times as a baby. So did the other I got at the same time. So if you get a baby and it's snappy, it doesn't mean you'll get stuck with an adult that acts the same way.

Those are some great pics, really helps dispell the myth that Bloods are a nasty breed to work with.

I do try hard to let people know that they don't usually live up to that reputation. I really enjoy keeping them a lot.

My brother took a couple pics too. I have to post the cute one and the funny one...

That's pretty awesome that you educate people and have kids around your animals. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are scared of snakes for no reason.

    Regards,
