    In her hide....

    Ive read that

"a hiding BP is a happy BP"

how accurate is that? My girl spends alot of time in her
warm side hide. Actually, I rarely see her come out of it.

It's very accurate, I don't see my ball python out of his hide unless he's getting a drink or something. A bp that's "exploring" or racing around the tank is stressed and looking for an escape route. Mine comes out to climb occasionally, but that's about it. Unless I have one of them out of the tank, they generally stay in their hides, which is a good sign.

Well carpet pythons are a lot different than the ball pythons, just make sure you research a lot before getting it. As long as your bp is hiding, eating consistently, and having good sheds, it appears you're doing a fine job

yeah, Ive been looking up all the info I can for about a week now, just so I dont have to fiddle with everything as much. Luckily my BP has been very forgiving for my mistakes.

    Re: In her hide....

Nice thread, I was wondering the same thing. My Ball does not come out of his hide at all (unless its when I'm sleeping). He took his dinner real nice on Sunday ever since I put him back in his cage, he explored a little, then went to his hide, and has not come out since.

This is great news. I recently put two new hides in, one on the hot side and the other on the cool side. I used to be able to see my ball cause she was always in her half log. Which i thought she liked but probably used just cause it was the best coverage she had. Now i know better than to use a half log for a bp. The only time i ever see her now is when she goes from one hide to the other.

    Re: In her hide....

Mine does that sometimes right after a feeding she will hang outside her hide sometimes up to an hour but will eventually go back in and pretty much stay there.
