    Looking for a reputable breeder

I am getting a second BP and was wondering who I should buy from. I have no experience buying from anyone so Im basically starting from scratch. I've been to LLL reptile and Big apple herps websites. I am looking for a morph of some sort, not sure which one so many to choose from. Im looking to spend no more than $350.

Any suggestions on breeders, morph selection would be great.

I have a normal female and was thinking about trying to mate the two, so my next buy would be a male. Also what morph would be a good one to start breeding a normal with?

Re: Looking for a reputable breeder

I live in SW pa. There's a reptile show this weekend in washington PA but I don't have the money at this time so I can't make it to this one. Maybe I'll just go to get some names and numbers for future reference.

    Any websites with good reps?

I don't have anything bad to say about Big Apple Herp for their PRODUCTS, as I've purchased several items from them, but as to their animals, well...I can't say.

As to breeders, there are any number of options there. I have dealt with and been extremely happy with Pro Exotics and VMS Herps. Both are professional breeders and have great reputations as well as what I personally know of them. Just from having looked recently, it seems like no one has much of an inventory as far as morph selections at the present time and most are waiting on clutches to hatch out. That said, good luck in your search and as to what morph would be recommended to breed with a normal, I'll leave that to someone with more knowledge than I about Punnett squares and genetics, lol! Good luck to you!

I'd be comfortable buying a BP from most of the regular contributors here.

Hmm I just now noticed that Freakie Frog is a short drive away from me....

HAHAHAHAHA! A small part of me is glad that I've yet to find anyone very close, although that hasn't precluded me buying from the big breeders via on-line, lol!

Apparently Freakie Frog...I have heard a few people on here rave about his snakes..

You also can't really go wrong with BHB or NERD....have never heard anything bad from either. I know on both websites you can search my price, starting with the lowest...good luck!

Both ball-pythons.net, and faunaclassifieds.com have board of inquiry sections. The board of inquiry, breeder's posts on forums, and appearances at shows; can really help separate the good guys from the idiots.

Thanks for that info, I wasn't aware of that but have looked at both sites. Guess it all goes back to reading the directions before starting a project, lmao!
