Re: An easy way to accept credit cards?

Keep in mind when mentioning things like yard sales, most people don't claim money made from things like yard sales in their income taxes. By accepting the credit card payment you are creating a paper trail and may need to account for that come tax time.

The $1000 weekly limit seems a bit excessive, but their logic of wanting to ensure that your account can cover chargebacks etc, makes sense. I suppose this is the trade-off for not having to have a merchant account and terminal fees, etc.

Yeah from everyone I have talked to and read about this service, they say it works very well. I will find out soon for myself just waiting on my square to get here. I think it will be a great tool especially for shows and online sales as well..

Just to give anyone who's interested a update I have been using the Square device for a few weeks now and so far I love it. It will deposit the money from the transaction directly into your bank account and email or text the customer a receipt.

Just received my square this week.

My phone isn't officially supported, but the droid OS is. I'll be running a test transaction or two next week.

The android OS is supported but if you do not have a supported device their customer service will not help you if needed.

Yes I read that in their user agreement it was "use at your own risk" basically. The Droid2 is my phone, the Droid is supported and since they are adding new phones to their "pool" I'm in good hopes that my specific phone will be supported officially, eventually.
