Switching to tubs but I need advice

I believe it will be better for me and my snake to just switch to a tub, he is probably around 16-18 inches long, would I be able to just purchase a storage tub from wal-mart and make holes for ventilation? and If I were to do so, do you know about what size I would want to use? and when using a tub I do believe that using an UTH is efficient heating correct? Also is there any specific brand of you guys use? Preferably that I can get from a common store

Im also very new to this, but I dont want to get into the habit of glass aquariums I want to keep my snake as happy as I can, and from my research, tubs are the way to go. I have had him about a week... should I Feed him first and then switch to a tub? or should I switch to the tub first? or is it ok either way?

Yes, you can use the Rubbermaid or Sterilite tubs from Wal-Mart. I would suggest looking at something in the 15-20 quart range. It will need to be big enough to hold at least 2 snug hides and a water bowl comfortably. Since you've had him for a week, you can try feeding. If he eats, then wait 2 days before moving him to a tub. When you go to get the tub, I would suggest also getting some binder clips to keep the tub lip and lid pinched together...

Here is a great link from one of the members here on how to set up a tub. I have found it to be very helpful
