Yay we switched to rats!

I've had my girl on mice since I got her around xmas because I couldn't find a local supply of rats that were small enough for her. Well I found one this past weekend and tonight was our first time offering rats. SUCCESS!! After reading people's horror stories on here of trying to get their snakes switched to rats and the fact that her belly is slightly pink (the beginning of the shed cycle) I was totally prepared for refusal. Nope! She took the 1st one and it took her about 20 mins (see Feeding Tips thread) to get herself situated so she could eat it (ended up going down backwards) but the 2nd one was NO PROBLEMO! She was on small mice and now on 2 fuzzy rats (the breeder didn't have any pups/crawlers frozen at the time). I am a very happy snakey mommy tonight!

Congrats i just got my baby girl to eat her first F/T for me with out hesitation. Although i was not fortune as you were i went to go pick up some frozen fuzzies on the small side and he didn't have anything so gave me some decent sized pinkies.

Nonetheless she gulped it down so i am a happy dad lol

I love that all but one of mine are on rats. I have one that's 2 that just refuses the switch. She's such a little brat.
