    Youngest Off feed?

Hi all so as I am about to have a mix of boys and girls in my house I am wondering what is the youngest male you have had go off feed during breeding season and how long were they off?

None of my males are off feed but all my breeding females are! Usually males go off feed on their second winter at about 800 grams and can go from 1 month to 3-4 months! I have heard cases of males going off feed for 6 months! If they are big enough and they don't lose alot of weight then it is perfectly fine!

I've had a 2 year old ball python male go off feed for 6 months. Currently one of my females is on a 4 month streak and another is on a 3 week streak. I don't worry though, just a part of owning ball pythons.

    Re: Youngest Off feed?

My year old fire male went off feed after breeding for 3 months.
He was breeding 3 females at 650 grams and dropped below 600 grams and I pulled him for a few weeks and got him back on feed with 3 good meals and now he's back in rotation and breeding away and eating still.

Got a fire male that has been off food for about 6 weeks and he's only 6 months old...I'm thinking it's something environmental causing it so we'll see. PS he isn't nor has he bred anything.

My youngest was a six month old male. He was a great feeder and it went off feed for 3 months. No clue why. He wasn't breeding at all. This year the only one not eating is a tough feeder male (the mojo), so I can't say I'm surprised. Last year my pastel male, who was breeding, was off and on, but not too bad.

    Re: Youngest Off feed?

All my Males right now are off feed. Youngest is a 5-6month old Male. But its more due to them living in the garage and when we got our 1st cold well more like a cool snap here in Florida most of my snakes started their winter thing. The Females how ever keep pounding food.
