    Giving meds

I have to give my girl medicine by mouth, and she's not making it easy at all. It took me and my boyfriend to even get her mostly still, and I barely got the syringe in her mouth. Any tips or tricks to getting a good hold on her without hurting her? I'm afraid to put too much pressure in case I hurt her neck, but without enough she just slips right through my fingers. I don't want it to be a fight the next two times I have to do this, and the longer we struggle with her the more stressed she gets.

What meds are you having to give orally??

i take the plastic ink part out of a pen and clean it out really good and cut it to the length of the snakes "neck" then put it into the end of the syringe used to deliver the meds. grab him/her behind the head and slide the tube down their throat slowly and gently until the tip of the syringe is behind their trachea and press down. once your done hold the snakes head up for a few minutes so the meds dont run out and make the whole process pointless. i have done it this way by myself and it works good but im sure is easier with someone else to help. good luck

Due to the speed of the animals metabolism oral meds are pretty much pointless..You need to take your snake to a vet and get injectable Baytril. You are wasting your time, money and stressing an already sick animal..

Vets prescribe oral baytril when they aren't sure what else to do..
