Re: Accu-Temp 6000 Reptile Incubator or Exo Terra Reptile Incubator
For the same cost you can get a free to very inexpensive mini fridge, order heat tape and supply's and get a really nice herpstat thermostat delivered and be able to do 3-4 clutches or more VS those tiny incubators.
I'm pretty sure they use on/off thermostats in those cheap incs...
Re: Accu-Temp 6000 Reptile Incubator or Exo Terra Reptile Incubator
Yes that would work fine, it's what I used my first season.
With one clutch you don't need a fan.
I bought a mini fridge like that one that had the freon removed already, if you get one with freon I'd leave it be and drill holes in the back for the wires to go through.
You'll need a hole for the thermostat probe and a hole for the flexwatt wires and thermometer wires to run through also. Or one hole large enough for all to go through. Just duct tape over the hole once your wires are in place.
I used 2 feet of 11x12 flexwatt running from bottom to top in the back.
The t-stat probe can either hang in the middle or be taped to the flexwatt, either way works.
The thermometer probe goes into a tub and hangs in the air to allow you to get your ambient temperature in the tub between 88 and 90.
A probed thermometer allows you to read the temp inside of the tub while having the thermometer box on the outside.
The less you have to open the door the better, especially with small incs.
I just called the add that I posted about he is willing to sell it for 40$ lol. So really the only thing you would need is the flexwatt and a thermostat any suggestions on what you would use for that? and anything els that I would need.
