    kitty with the crazies

I love when my cats get nutty. My Maine Coon, Apollo, does this especially often and tries his hardest to get me to chase him. He's 8 years old, but still plays like a kitten - a big, clutzy, adorable kitten. I was tired last week and wouldn't play, so he decided to steal something out of the garbage to run around with.

Oh, and one of the funniest things he's done (a few years ago) was to totally misjudge the height of a counter by about a foot. I have no clue what he was doing, but he was sitting in front of the counter, then tried to jump up. Instead of getting on the counter, he hit the front and flopped on the floor (he doesn't land on his feet very well when he falls). Then he got up and walked away, but not in the way a cat normally would. Usually, they would have their ears back and look a little mad, but he just had this confused look. I got a good laugh out of that one.

    Re: kitty with the crazies

i had a blast puttin' the scare on some kittens when i was younger just to watch them rocket straight up and come down running....
i also used to tickle the fur just inside their ears & their whiskers when they were asleep just to watch them twitch and paw at their ears & faces until they'd finally open their eyes to see what was going on.
oh dont worry they got their payback! they used to climb up my legs & body until they got to my shoulders. that was one of reasons why i stopped wearing shorts, lol.
it's hilarious watching cats play with & kill invisible things.
you've got a pretty kitty there but i never knew main coons could be gray. i thought they were always brown/black with white bellies and legs.

He's a silver tabby. Maine Coons come in pretty much every color, except pointed.

Kinda reminds me of the time my fat thing got his head stuck in a tissue box... that was a good laugh.

Oh my gosh he's such a cutie!!! I have a kitty that I swear has main coon in him. He will kill anything and is a pretty big kitty! 14 pounds and no chub to him at all! If he really does have main coon in him I soooo want a full blood main coon! Your kitty is just precious!

Thanks! He's really fun to have around. He has the tiniest little meow for such a big kitty. The one Maine Coon thing he's missing is the killer instinct. The hunting part's there, but he seems to understand that killing his prey takes away the fun. With that size, your kitty probably has some in him.
