    ID help

I know these aren't the best pictures. I'll take more once I get him set up.

A lady brought him into the pet store. He found him in her house. I'm quite shocked as its -24C here.

Trying to figure out what he is:

To me he looks like a really emanicpated, hungry, green anole. Also, his tail seems to have fallen off once (but regrown now). I'm amazed he is alive at such a low temperature locally. I have no idea how he got there. Perhaps, he came from an imported plant, box of fruit, or maybe even someones pet that was released or escaped.

He looks like some crickets are in order for this little guy and a nice heat lamp.

    Here is one care sheet:

I've offered him a cricket but he doesnt seem interested right now.

And are you sure about the tail? Do they shed? Because at the pet store he had a piece of skin (?) hanging off his tail that I removed. But he still has some. I just put him in a small critter keeper with some heat and water. I'll ix him up nice and good tomorrow before work.

Yes, anole. And yes, they shed. Get some heat on him. Once he warms up he might like a cricket, or leave some meal worms in a dish for him.

Yeah he's got heat on him. I'm looking for a nice bigger tank for him right now so I can get a permanent home for him set up.

I couldn't just leave him there when the pet store was going to close.

He should eat a cricket after he gets warmed up and some water into his system.

One way I would give water to my crippled anoles was by just putting the tip of their mouth in the water, which then they would obviously start to drink (if they seemed like they were "out of it" and would drown then I would not try this method). Another way is by puting water droplets on your fingers and letting it drop on their heads; they would open their mouths and the water droplets would land in it, which they would then drink and wait for the next droplet. I recommend letting him drink for himself though, if possible.

A heat lamp should be his new favorite thing for sure. In fact, I used to let anoles run around my reptile room when I was working, because they were always easy for me to find - right under the heat lamp or in my live plants on the shelf above the heat lamp.

And yes, they do shed. Also, I'm 99.999% sure he lost his tail sometime in his life. See where the color stops and it has a distinct border? That usually means tail loss. No worries though, he should be fine despite of it.

It was really kind of you to take him in, and shows you are a truely caring person. Most people would just let him die. I hope you enjoy your new friend.
