Thoughts on setting standards for BPs?

This would have to be started I think be the larger breeders. Also maybe a registry. Sorry I didn't even search just a thought.

Well any standards on an animal of any kind are often ill enforced. However most reputable breeders these days do follow a sort of "standard". All in all standards are really only enforced by one person, the consumer. If most BP owners only purchase BP's which are at a certain standard, then breeders will ideally have to abide by those standards to keep the lights on and make profit.

I guess I was more thinking of breed standards. Like an X dog can only have X colors bla bla. My reason behind the thought is with standards and a registry it would hopefully keep people to a higher level in breeding.

There would be a whole lot of "imperfect" snakes not finding good homes that's for sure..

Snakes have to many different versions of each morph and everyone likes different traits of different morphs. just look at the different bloodlines of pastels. Some want alot blushing and stay darker, some want the bright yellows to stay with no blushing. which pastel would be the imperfect one?
    1.0 Bumble Bee
    1.0 Cinny het Albino
    0.1 Albino
    0.3 Pastel
    0.1 BEL (Lesser x Mojave)
    0.1 Pinstripe
    0.2 Normal

Look at a 100 normals there is a massive variation even in the 'normal' I don't think it possible to set breed standards like dogs. To be honest the stupidest thing I have seen in a long time is a friend has a boxer that due to changing laws and his own preference it has a full tail and unmodified ears and it was rejected from a show because it wasn't a standard... I hope that this NEVER enters into the reptile breeders!
