    A little about me.

Hi, I'm Jennifer. I just got a snake for my daughter for Christmas. My daughter is 9 and has loved snakes her whole life (she get's it from me) and has wanted one for a long time. The snake is a 5 month old female Pastel Ball Python that I got from The Snake Keeper. I got her on 12/7 and was able to keep her hidden until Christmas day!!! My daughter named her Sylvia right away. Sylvia is an awesome and beautiful snake. I kind of expected her to be shy, but she really isn't. She eats frozen/thawed with no problem. I kept her in a 15 qt sterilite until Christmas, when I put her in her new 36" x 24" x 14" cage from Constrictors Northwest and she ate an f/t adult mouse this morning. I'd like to feed her weaned rats, but I'm afraid they're to big and the pet stores don't have rat pups. I was a little worried that the large cage would stress her out, but it doesn't seem to. She does have 5 hides and some other stuff in there so maybe that helps. I had a few snakes (2 Ball Pythons and a Red Tail Boa) when I was younger, but I'll talk about them later.
Well that's all for now. Talk to you all later.

Jennifer. I bet your daughter was thrilled to find a ball python waiting for her on Christmas day. We love pictures of snakes on this site, so post one when / if you are able.

    Hey Jennifer,

That's cool that you gave your daughter a boid for Christmas! I always like to see the parents onboard with a child's exotic pet, it opens a whole new world for a child!

    Welcome!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the future. So far most of them have been answered by just searching the forums. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

I wish my Mom was as open to exotics when I was young as you are with your daughter.
