    Smile Happy Thanksgiving! (2 questions)

Question 1. Is it true that on the first Thanksgiving they did not eat turkey?

Question 2. Is it safe to use a clay or ceramic pot as a ball python's hide if the pot has been colored and/or glazed?

    1. Not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me that they didn't. True history rarely reflects current cultural traditions.

    2. So long as they used a "food safe" glaze, you can be confident that it's safe to use. As for the non-food-safe glazes (those with lead in them) I couldn't say for sure it was risky...but personally I wouldn't take the chance.

I've got painted/glazed ceramic hides that my Mom made for me when she took a ceramics class a few years ago. Haven't had any issues with them at all.

1---I would say prolly no turkey

2---I would think it wouldnt matter if it was in the kiln long enough to cure it? Not sure though?? I like the look of the natural clay though.

1- they may have eaten wild turkey, they definitely ate eels and eagles though... So that's festive. The first thanksgiving feast had no potatoes or sweets or anything, just what ever meats they could find.

2 - I second the bit about food safe glazes. If it isn't safe to eat off of, I wouldnt want to live in it.
