    Feeding problems

Today I thawed out the prey in the same room as my snake and he started to come out and show signs that he was hungry so I took the prey and warmed it up than put it in the tank but he only struck at it once and didnt take it so i left it in his tank hoping he would eat it cause the breeder i bought him off of said to just leave it laying in there and he should take it.

Its been about 2 hours now tho and he hasnt taken it hes just sitting there about an inch from his prey and flicking his toung at it, so should i move the prey around to make it look alive or should i just leave it and wait?

give it another hr or so.

if he doesnt take it then try dangleing it a bit...

im having the same issue with f/t right now... sucks but if al else fails.. live wouldn't hurt...
well it can but as i usually do, i stand by while they are about to attack the rat/mouse, and as soon as they strike i make sure the rodents head is not loose or in a position to bite whilest being strangled. if it is i use a pair of tongs to grab its snout while the snake does the rest...

its a little heart racing but hey as long as they eat and are not bit. all is good.

    Re: Feeding problems

Some times if you leave it in there and shut off the lights he may come out and take it. It wont hurt to leave it in there for a while. Or, you can try and heat it up with some hot water, and dry it off quickly and dangle it in front of him. Just have patients!
