    Controlling heat pad temps.

I got my temp probe under the hide and on top of the newspaper substrate and its reading 88-90F but sometimes it will randomly go up to 95 or drop to 84 and i want to be able to controll this but I cant order anything over the internet like a herpstat and my petsmart doesnt sell them either so is there any way I could get one at a home depot or somewhere like that?

What are you using now to control the temperature?

    Re: Controlling heat pad temps.

I don't think the home depot will have a thermostat for an application like this. (They may! but I wouldn't think they would...but don't hold me to my word) But I do know that they carry dimmer switches and timers. A timer wouldn't help at all, but a dimmer would keep it from getting too hot once you have the temps settled in. Bad news is, it's not going to keep the temps from dipping down.

Try looking in the phone book for a random Hole-in-the-wall pet shop. There's bound to be one within 30 miles, and they just might carry a thermostat

You could just get a dimmer to keep the temps from exceeding 95 for now. They are under $10. Or what would be preferable is if you had the cash to pick up an uth thermostat.

    petco/petsmart normally should carry them.

    If not check this out

Btw by providing the city in which u reside in could also help to find one locally.
