the only thing about condas is half the time when the bit you never see it coming. With burms and retics I can usually tell when Im about to get striked at. With anacondas they just kind of get you. They can basically turn there heads around to so its very easy for them to get you on the arms while you holding them. it sucks getting side swiped

I'm interested in getting one eventually too. Would a yellow or green be the best choice for a first time anaconda owner?

its all up to the owner. There both great snakes. Of course the greens are going to be much larger.

Its really up to what you want. Try getting it as a baby so it gets used to being handled and wont be agressive. My yellow is just as nice as my ball pythons and my boas. He loves being held and being out of his cage. Definitly my best and most favorite snake.

I think ill get a yellow then. Haven't had too much experience with big snakes other an 9ft boa I used to have.

a green anaconda only grows 10f? wow isnt that like a RTB?

That would be a yellow anaconda your talking about. I just read they get to about 10-12 feet & the greens get around 18 feet or bigger

I've never ever seen a pic of a green bigger than 17 feet, wild or captive.

yeah everything i read said that female yellows get around 9 or 10 feet, and male greens stay roughly the size of a burm, but weigh a little more
