POSSIBLE RI- new pastel female
She has dirt and stuff around her mouth and is breathing iregularly. i realize i need to take her to the vet, whats the best way to go about finding a exotic animal vet in humboldt county? and then can anyone give me a guesstimate about the possible treatment methods? and maybe a general pricing estimate? also I can afford to care for her but if she infects all my snakes that could be bad news? im freakin out lol what is a possible cause are my tubs not ventilated enough?

Increase humidity and temps till you find a vet.
Search the yellow pages for local exotic vets.

Yeah my best advice i can give is call the clinics to make sure there is a certified reptile vet on staff. Not having enough ventilation wouldn't cause an RI, a multitude of different things can cause an RI. Just find the right vet near you and start treatment ASAP!

Re: POSSIBLE RI- new pastel female
Quarantine doesn't do any good after the fact. Sure, you can go ahead and move her, but there's no guarantee you caught things in time. Be glad it's just a possible RI and not IBD.
Definitely get her to a vet, an RI is nothing to mess around with. No idea what it might cost you, since it varies so widely with vets across the country and also depends a bit on your relationship with your vet. I usually get in and out at mine for about twenty bucks, but I've known her for years and she sees all my animals.
Good luck.

Quarantine is a must do for every new snake brought in for this very reason, good luck and hopefully the rest of your snakes are ok

Re: POSSIBLE RI- new pastel female
I had snakes with RIs and Quarantine is not a great concern. most RI's won't be pass from one snake to another. not that it can't happen, but very unlikely. I will take the snake out of the rack and placed in a tank so I can slightly raise the temps on the one with the RI. and a vet visit is almost always required.
