Some ASF Colors! Lots of Pics!

I am fairly new to breeding ASF's, but have had great success! My goal is to produce different colors and patterns ect... I am not sure of the proper names of all of the colors yet, but I just keep what different and breed them back. It is very hard getting new stuff because these little boogers are hard to find. If anyone has a color in Northern Ohio that I don't have pictured, Please send me a pm!

    Here is my bunch!

Maybe a white! (too young to tell but looks good!)

    Random pictures of some babies!

    My new additions!

Your first one there, is a Platinum. Platinum is solid white with black eyes and black ears.
If it had white ears, it would be a black eyed white.

The yellow ones with red eyes are called Argente. They are a diluted version of Agouti. It's recessive and very easy to breed.

If you're interested at all, you should come to the ECMA show in Pigeon Forge TN on December 18th. I'm bringing some ASFs there for sale and trade, and would love to get some of your mostly white ones.

We have similar goals in mind. I am also striving to create some standard markings and colours in ASFs. I'd like to see them come into the mainstream as pets, and eventually it would be nice to have them in shows like mice and rats.

It doesn't look like you have any Ruby eyed agoutis in there. I do, and I'll be bringing lots of them to the show with me.

Re: Some ASF Colors! Lots of Pics!

    Thanks Rhasputin!

I wish that I could make the trip! I would love to trade some! Thanks for all the information on all of the colors. The platinum is a female. She was taken from another group and placed with my original breeders because I lost one because of a tub accident (broken neck). They adopted her and hopefully she will produce some nice babies down the road. I am not certain, but believe that the reduced pattern is also a recessive trait. That would be my guess anyways. The 3rd pic is my new breeding group. They have a while to grow up, but I can't wait to see what I get. The male has the red eyes.

Jesse, I'm doing my best to get some Platinums, BEWs, and PEWs. So eventually maybe I can get some to you.

The only trouble is getting my ass to Kentucky, or Ohio to grab some!

Thanks! If anyone ever makes it to Ohio, I would love to trade! New blood is always good! If all goes well in a few months, I should be getting more white little guys! I don't travel very much. I have too many animals. Maybe a few times a year to Michigan for the American Bulldog show and thats it.
