snake room in basement.. reflectix vs polyshield?

so we moved over the summer (kind of a huge mistake but what can ya do?) my snakes are now in a room built in the basement. there is one wall in their room that is concrete, the other walls are fine as they arent against the foundation. i want to line the concrete wall with something to help keep the cold from coming off the concrete into their room. does anyone know what will keep heat in and cold out better? im torn between reflectix and polyshield.

oh FYI the polyshield is 3/4 styrofoam with 1 side that has the silvery stuff lol

Or u can go all the way by insulating the whole wall .2x4 insulation and drywall. it will be warmer and u will save money on heating on the long run . hope it helps .

i would if where Im living now was going to be permanent. come spring (gotta save $ to move), we need to find another place to live which is going to be hard as I have many pets, the main problems are the 4 dogs (one being a GSD) 2 cats and of course my snakes fun fun fun. So glad I gave up my home to move in with my sister, she promised to redue her basement into a full apartment for us and now because of zoning laws she doesnt want to do what needs to be done and my old apartment has been rented for quite some time now, otherwise my land lord said he's gladly let us come back home.

so for now, im just lookin for something to help, doesnt have to be perfect or look pretty as I just worry about that 1 wall.. I dont know how much cold will permeate thru it, I dont want to take any chances.

IM in the middle of redoing a bedroom in the house with Fanfold. Its insulation put on before siding on your hosue is put up.

1/2" is what im using but you can go thicker. But best is to put the fanfold up on the concreat, build a wall and then drywall it. This will help 100 times better on heat.

Lowes sells it and its moisture resistant and mold resistant. I would also recommend doing the ceiling of that room as well to hold the heat in that room better rather going to the above floor.

you have no idea! thats the main reason I couldnt move from my last apartment, lived there 17 or 18 yrs.

You might still want to build a room with 2x4s and insulation. This is the first thread I made of the room I built. It's roughly 7' by 8' and with framing, insulation, electrical, drywall, and anything else relating the the room, the total cost was like $225. Not bad. So just thought I'd mention that if you haven't considered the full cost of building a snake room.
