Pics from NARBC Houston - DUW Warning

GREAT show this weekend in Houston. While turnout wasn't as great as hoped (I think Halloween weekend had a lot to do with that) there were a lot of really cool animals and got to visit with some great people. Here are the pics:

Starting off with a couple Jungle Jaguar Carpets from Morelia Pythons:

    Bob Clark:

Something a little unusual that Bob was selling - fruit bats! They sold right in front of me (not that I would want those but still kind of cool for something different):

    Leucistic Reticulated Python:

    NERD:
    Super Pastel Inferno:

    Soul Sucker:

Fire/Vanilla/Spider (I'm not a huge spider fan but I LOVE this animal!):

    Super Phantom:

    Exotics By Nature:

I hope I get this right. I believe this is the Super Special but hope I'm not mixing it up with the Crystal:

    Crystal:

    Special:

    VPI:

    Ivory Blood Python:

    Magpie Blood Python:

Pastel Sugar (not labeled correctly on case) and Powerball:

    Powerball:

    Pastel Sugar:

    BHB:

    Ghost/Mojave/Spider:

    Marc Bailey:
    Desert Pastel:

    Yellowbelly Balls:

    Spied:

    Super Pastel SK Axanthic:

    Mystic Potion:

I have no idea what this is but it sure is cool looking:

    Thanks for looking!

I think the turnout wasn't very good because the tickets were $15 each (for 2 days) and parking was $8. A little ridiculous if you ask me especially if you didn't want to go for 2 days.

I know who bought the bats they are supposed to "breed like crazy" - I see bats in my future

Yeah i have to say with most shows the worst part is having to pay $10-15 for a ticket and have to pay $3-10 for parking. If you don't buy anything, it's pretty much a waste of money. Thats why i like shows like Hickory and Columbia, free parking!!

Yeah, I know who bought the bats too. His name is Tim but I don't know his last name. He's a regular customer at my friend's reptile shop. I also think it's a champagne but I think it's a champagne combo rather than a straight up champagne. I really wouldn't call $23 (combined admission and parking) a waste of time considering the caliber of breeders at this show. Even though I did buy stuff, I would have had fun anyway and getting to pick the brains of the likes of Kevin McCurley, Brian Barcyck, Tracy Barker, Sean Bradley, Tim Bailey, etc. etc. etc. is kind of hard to put a price on. You'd pay a lot more than $23 for a school course, if there was one that taught their type of knowledge which there isn't.

Even though the turnout was a little bit low, we did well at the show, had fun with friends, and I was able to come home with a new snake. SO, in my boook it was a huge success.

I can complain though, that on top of admission and $8 parking, the $8 nachos and $5 drinks were very expensive as well.

Thanks for all that stopped by and said hello.

Seriously, and $6.50 for a dinky little hot dog. That was freakin' ridiculous.
It was a great show for just hangin' out with people though. That was my first time at a larger show and I had a blast working for NERD/Freedom Breeder and getting to meet everyone else.
