Do you clean tubs during paring
I cleaned all my racks and introduced the first pairs of the season yesterday. One of the pairings is my double het true ghost female to my double het snow male. (How do you make a double recessive project longer? Turn it into a triple recessive project.) Shortly after I put them together he started courting her. When hours of putting them together she took the biggest crap I have ever seen from a BP. I knew I had to clean it but I was so excited that he was trying to lock. I was just wondering if you guys clean tubs during pairing or wait untill you separate?

Re: Do you clean tubs during paring
I always wait. It seems inevitable that one or both of them will lighten the load before they get to work. I'd rather not disturb them, and then just clean them up after they are finished.

They had not locked yet. I had no choice but to clean it. My racks are in my downstairs office. The smell started working it's way upstairs. All joking aside if I didn't know better I would have thought my Bullmastiff had crapped in this tub. Hopefully I didn't ruin the mood.

I agree with Lawrence,
They always seem to poop and pee everywhere during pairings over here.
I wondered if it had to do with the scenting or if it was sheer excitement.
But I always wait until I'm removing the male to clean it up.

Re: Do you clean tubs during paring
Mine do the same thing, they just love unloading themselves of the rodents I gave them three days previously.
I agree with everyone else I guess LOL, I just wait until I take the male out when it's time to stop pairing and give them their three day rest & feeding. Once I take the male out I spot clean around the female's tub and give her the hide box back.
