heating advice needed

I've decided to build a snake rack to save some room because my collection is expanding rapidly. I've picked up 5 new snake this week alone. I plan on making it out of wood because its light. My question is what should I use to heat it? I keep hearing about flexwatt but I've read you have to solder it & wire it. I took electrical in high school so the wiring is no problem but I have no idea how to solder, & id have to go out & buy the supplies needed to solder. Would it be a bad idea to use flexwatt with wood due to a risk of fire? Is there anything else I could use?

you dont need to solder anything. I picked up 2 feet of it last week, clipped on the ends and plug it in!

Ok great. I don't remember the site that I read it on but the guy said he had to solder it so that's why I though you had to. How much does it cost & where can you get it? Will it be ok to use it with a wood rack?

Go to ReptileBasics.com and Rich will wire it and everything for you, so when you get it, it's already cut to length and wired. The clips on the end are really easy, all you need is a set of pliers and some strong hand grip. They aren't too expensive when bought with Flexwatt.

Rich will cut and wire all your flexwatt for you. If you have any questions about flexwatt on wood I'd recommend emailing or calling Rich and asking him about it. He is a expert on all things flexwatt.

flexwatt only gets up to about 120F so unless it malfunctions somehow the wood will be fine

Thanks. I was worried id come home to find my house up in flames. Not sure how big the racks gonna be yet. I'm gonna go to walmart tonight to get some measurments on some sterilite tubs.
