    Cutting??

Is there a real reason to cutt eggs? I thought I read somewhere that there was. I know that in birds sometimes they forget when to "wakeup" and just never pip, if you catch them intime you can tap on them or crack the egg a bit to help out and get them going again. on my local reptile forum the common opinon is that its just breeders wanting to see what they got early, and that it endangers the babies?? With most morphs easliy seen when candling I would not think that common practice would be to endanger babies just to know a couple days early. Any thoughts

It is about 99% people just people being impatient but every once in a while it can save a hatchling that is wrapped in it's umbilical or can emerge on it's own for some reason. It does not endanger the hatchlings as long as you cut at the right time and only make a small cut. The only time I think you can run into problems is if you cut way too early and "scalp" the eggs like you see some people do.
