Sweet PDZ

Does anybody use Sweet PDZ from Tractor Supply? I've read a couple people suggest using this to reduce the ammonia odor but it does not appear to have a lot of support. Is it effective? safe for rodents and ultimately snakes? Do you simply mix it with the bedding ? If so, any suggestions on how much to use in a mortar tub with 1.3-4 rats with Equine Fresh?

We used it for a short time with aspen shavings, but it's kind of redundant with Equine Fresh. I'm not sure how much it would really help as the wood pellets tend to absorb most of the urine and do a pretty good job of keeping the smell down. Give it a try and see what you think, and let us know what you find out.

I use sweet PDZ. Mike, the ASF god, used it a while then quit using it. I think he didn't like the dust or something.

I use Aspen substrate. Yea, it is overkill on equine fresh. I put one scoop (the feed store I get mine from gave me the little green sweet PDZ scoop) on a 10- gallon tank. I can tell you there is a big difference in smell.

I've used it for 2 years without issues for snakes or rats.

I've used it with rats along with DE in the tubs. I stopped because I moved them out of the house but I DID notice a difference with it with the rats but EVEN MORE with the rabbits!
