    Leo DiCaprio buys a tortoise!

Turns out he was at NARBC with the intention of buying!

According to sources, Leo called a California pet store that specializes in rare reptiles and requested the tortoise one day before he picked it up. We're told the tortoise ran Leo a cool $400.

We're told Leo asked for the biggest tortoise they had -- a 38-pounder -- but according to experts, Sulcatas can grow to weigh 200 pounds.

Why do people go stupid when they see famous people out in the general public? I think its cool they like reptiles also but they dont deserve being hounded by people.Hey maybe they are helping us keep our reptiles so LEAVE THEM ALONE

I love how they make it sound like a big deal that he spent 400 bucks on a tort. Hes loaded. Hes probably still sitting on money from titantic plus inception and shutter island.

I think it's a great thing for celebs to get into herps! I know torts don't exactly have a bad rep with the public, but it's nice for people to see that reptiles aren't strange pets.

They easily live longer than 80 years, most tortoised can top 100 no problem...
