Re: Rescued this today...
Someone turned it loose. When we brought it home, and the snake saw that old aquarium, headed right for it. We can't keep it, but I wish we could. Right now she/he is cuddled up in the corner. Looks so relieved to be safe.

Re: Rescued this today...
A lawn care guy found him under a tree here in Texas. I also greatly underestimated the burms size. With three people we held him out and he was closer to 10ft. George as he has been named went to live with a friend of mine. She absolutely loves him and walked around carrying him for the whole hour visit. She kept saying "Wow, I'm gonna get my work out carrying him around."
We are still wondering how he "escaped" and ended up outside. I'm just happy his new owner loves him, and that I have my bathroom back.

Re: Rescued this today...
Did you post a found add in the newspaper? It is possible that someone lost him and he wasn't dumped. Think how you would feel if your snake got loose and you never found it. Did you take into the vet or the pound to see if it is micro chipped? I would wait at least 2 weeks before getting attached to it. I would also call around to pet stores and see if there are any herp shows around and contact them. Sorry for sounding harsh but you assumed he/she was dumped, but I have had enough snakes escape (granted never anything that big). Shoot at least give it a week and post some flyers at the local pet stores.
Thank you for taking it in and caring for such a beautiful snake.
