His name is Bobby. I spoke to the owner and she seems to really like the cat but fate has chosen a different path for her.

Reminds me of my old cat Tasha who passed away many years ago. She was out of a litter of black and white short-hairs, but looked just like Bobby (very Mainecoonish). She was super sweet and lovey, too. Congrats and good of you to rescue!!
