Good Thermostats
I'm going to be buying a new thermostat in a few weeks. I want some opinions on the really good ones, ie. Herpstat, Ranco, Johnson's, Helix, etc. What do you recommend and why? In your opinion, what makes yours better than the competition.
Also, what is the difference between the outlet strip and the room heater?

Re: Good Thermostats
Herpstat and Helix are proportional stats that constantly maintain temps by increasing or decrasing power, the ranco, johnson etc are on and off type stats which click on and off which can be annoying to some. I have used helix and herpstat but herpstat is my choice, Dion's customer service is top notch

Re: Good Thermostats
I have a Herpstat and Helix. I paid $150 for my Helix and $145 for my Herpstat with Night Drop (shipping included on both). I like the way the Herpstat shows the power increase and decrease to find the right temp, blue LED screen, and you can program the Herpstat to the exact tenth of a degree.

Re: Good Thermostats
Ive got a Herpstat on my one rack. Works perfectly. Ive also got a Dimmer on my quarantine rack. That works perfectly too. Holds temps at 91-92*.

Re: Good Thermostats
I only use Herpstats. I find them incredibly reliable and worth the price tag. But any of the above mentioned thermostats will do a good job. It is entirely up to you.
