The mouse wont die now what?

I fed my snake about 15 min ago. He has had a hold of it for almost the hole time but it is still alive. What do i do just let him keep trying or try to do something?

Just let him do what he's doing and either he'll eat it and you can stop worrying, or he won't eat it, which then I'm sure you could put it in a ziplock bag and freeze it and just thaw it out for next time.

Just let him do his thing then, and worst case scenario if he doesn't eat it, you can throw the mouse away, or if you have other snakes, feed to them.

Yeah, just let him do what he does. I had a female last night try to eat a live without coiling it. Scared the bejeezes out of me. Eventually she realized it was alive and coiled. Usually they know what they are doing and can figure it out.

I've had snakes squeeze the rodent's belly.... and not the chest. So the rodent just sits there like "this is the worst snake skin girdle I have ever owned!" I just slightly move the snake until it coils a bit more and wraps the chest.

If I don't think the snake has it tight enough then i pull on the tail of the mouse and the snake will tighten. Some rodents last longer than others too!

Re: The mouse wont die now what?

I found that Adult Mice don't die as quickly as Hoppers do I'm not exactly sure why but they just don't die as fast. The first time I fed my Baby Ball Python he grabbed the Hopper by the hips and didn't get the head in the right position and the Hopper Mouse started to bite my Ball Python so my dad had to flick the mouses head and it died like 5 seconds after that, but no harm was done to my Ball Python.
