    Difference between ad and add

I know my grammar is terrible and my spelling sucks as well and yes this is the internet but still for some reason seeing add in place of the word ad really irritates me... I don't know if it's the same for anyone else and I hope so that way I don't sound like a jerk lol maybe it's the same with two, to, and too for some people....

    add
    –verb (used with object)
    1. to unite or join so as to increase the number, quantity, size, or importance: to add two cups of sugar; to add a postscript to her letter; to add insult to injury.
    2. to find the sum of (often fol. by up ): Add this column of figures. Add up the grocery bills.
    3. to say or write further.
    4. to include (usually fol. by in ): Don't forget to add in the tip.

    ad
    –noun
    1. advertisement.
    2. advertising: an ad agency.

Please please could someone else chime in and make me feel better....

    Effect and affect.

I hate when people mix them up.

It does sometimes bug me when people don't know the correct uses of some words. Then and than always gets me haha. But I'm not perfect I still confuse words so I try not to get to upset . I have a hard time with who and whom.

I see those kind of things all the time and it really bothers me for some reason. But I never correct them. Sometimes if I am quoting text with misspelled words or the wrong words I will correct it myself.

I get that way with "should of" and "should have".

Wait... is there a correct usage of "should of"? I always thought it was simply a verbal error people made which led other people to believe it was the correct usage.

Wow, you guys keep bringing up ones that totally get to me too. Again another one I am sure most people are irritated by.

I know a lot of people get worked up over the whole who/m, however I still have no idea which to use when.
