    09's over or at a 1000 grams.

    So,

We've had many feeding schedule discussing topics over at the Dutch forums, and every hobbyist has his or her own opinion about feeding intermissions and fooditem size.

I have two 09' females from late (august-september) 2009 and they are at 980-1000 ish grams. a Spider het OG and a 100% het Lavender albino.

Some people claim that they have been pushed even though I have them on a 5 day schedule. They both started on mice, and I quickly changed them to med-rats and adult VTM's. Pounding since the first week.

    What are your opinions?

If one of these two females hit 1500 grams end of this year I will not breed them anyway.

    Greets,

    Yaron

Re: 09's over or at a 1000 grams.

My opinion is that some balls just grow differently than others. I have an 08 female that hit 1500 exactly last breeding season. She was healthy, and not overfed. I tried to breed her, and i'm guessing the she just wasn't sexually mature. I had quite a few locks, but no ovy and no eggs.

Some females just like to eat I have two others that are 09's and both of them are at 1000 g's as well. It also depends on what time of year they were born. Late in the year babies tend to eat better during the winter than early in the year babies. That's my opinion anyway. Where are the pictures?

If they eat and they are not fat, then by all means this is ok. There are alot of controversy with power feeding, but even if you feed hatchling alot they are useing all of the nutritions to grow, so is it realy power feeding? I wouldnt breed her untill she is 2.5-3 years old anyway just to make sure she is mature

I'll make some pics when I get home.

    I'll post them up tomorrow.

My 09 Pastel girl is pushing 1,000 g and she eats a small rat every 7 days. I have another 09 female that is only 800+ Grams. Both my 08 females are 2000+ or pushing 2000 g. I feed them all on the same 7 day schedule.

All balls grow at different rates. I have a total of 6 '09 balls, and even though there is only a matter of a few weeks in age between most, they range from 500 grams all the way to 1000. The biggest difference is between my two females, they are only 3 weeks apart in age, but one weighs 600 and the other 1000.

If shes of a good size breed her. If shes ready she will take and if not then no go.

I have 2 09s both 1200grams now with still 5 months of feedings to go before i pair them.
