Help Please
I started pairing my Breeder female with my lesser male in November. I confirmed a couple locks between the two and continued keeping them together. The normal female went through a couple sheds and kept being paired until May. I never felt folicles and from what I saw she never ovulated. Now she is back to feeding and is no longer with the lesser. My question is, should I keep pairing them now or wait until November? I dont want to lose out on a clutch of eggs but I dont know if its worth trying if she is back to feeding... Please any help would be great.

Re: Help Please
Its really up to you. If she takes now, the clutch won't hatch until LATE 2010.
So is it worth it to continue to breed her and get a late clutch, or maybe an early clutch of 2011s?
If you want to, go ahead. If not, take a break.
If it were up to me, I'd just wait it out until "next year"

Re: Help Please
Ok thanks , I suppose my question was, is it possible for her to ovulate anytime soon if she is already back to feeding? or if I pair them now would they just sit there until November and then breed?

Yes, and yes...
You just have to watch her. It really depends on the animal, and even though there is a general schedule for breeding guidelines, most of the time the snakes don't follow it.
The female is the one to pay attention to. If she is glowing, getting fatter, breeding with the male still, all of these things are signs of her developing.
If she is not doing anything but eat, then I would leave her be for the next season, but still watch her closely just in case you missed the ovulation and all the other signs.
Just watch her

Re: Help Please
Thanks a bunch. Im still pretty new, I bought her last year at a show and the seller told me she was gravid, last June 4th she laid 5 eggs and I hatched 5 normals, then this year I was pairing her since November and have yet to get anything, thats what made me ask the question because I want to make sure im not doing anything wrong.

Re: Help Please
You probably didnt do anything wrong. Some females dont breed every single year. She might have just decided she needed a year off.
