Alright well this being my first breeding season I noticed that all the girls that laid are EXTREMELY aggressive right now, and if I put my hand in any of their tubs I'm getting bit lol. I fed them all and they all seemed to relax a bit but some are crazy. I opened one of the tub today and she came darting out ready to kill lol. I fed her another to make her happy. Do you guys notice this too?

Absolutely, my big girls that bred and dropped eggs and are eating like mad and several won't hesitant to take an arm or a finger off if need be

Got to love those post lay feeding responses. Of course then you get some like two of our females who absolutely refuse to eat. They are quite frustrating. I'll take the ones ready to take your arm off over the problem feeders every day of the week.

How long does it usually take for them to calm down a little and not be so strike happy?

It really depends on how much you feed them, some calm down a bit after 4-6 weeks, for others it can take 8-12 weeks. For some of my females, I offer them a second rat after they take the first for about a month after they lay, then cut them back to their typical feeding schedule, and most of mine tend to chill out after approximately 6-8 weeks.

The breeder said she ate after dropping eggs, but I'm skeptical because she still has zero feeding response a month after bringing her in
All the girls we bred that took or didn't take are back chowing really well though.

Yeah so far so good.

Its funny because all of my females stopped eating at the same time and started eating at the same time(even the non-gravid girls). I don't know if theres something in the air or what, but I'm just glad to see all their appetites back to normal.

I could see that being very frustrating. Beginners luck I guess

Mona laid a few weeks ago, and has been ravenous ever since! I gave her a couple of mice the day after laying, and she practically took off my finger as I threw them in. After eating those mice, she was in "hunt/strike" position for like the next 24 hours... like she was saying "Is that it?? C'mon!" She was never that aggressive of a feeder, so this definitely seems to be normal for post-lay girls.
