    Small Success

My 06 Normal female has been a pain in the rear lately. She's been a picky eater for a long time but recently, she has not wanted to eat hardly anything. She goes weeks without a meal, then will sometimes eat what I offer, but that has been very rare.

Yesterday was her first meal in what seems like months. A live mouse hopper. I had one, so I tossed it in. She ate it, but only after I left her alone in the dark. She was 1089 when I weighed her yesterday. I was thinking of continuing with the mouse hoppers since that is what she took. ( I have been offering live adult mice, f/t adult mice, live small rats, live rat weans, f/t small rats, f/t rat weans.) What would be a good feeding schedule to try and get her on? One mouse hopper every 4-5 days? Or should I try feeding two. She is my only hold-out this season. Even Xefaud is eating on a regular basis now again (He's eaten 3 weeks in a row.)

i say next time you feed her a hopper, quickly throw in an adult mouse since she will still be in feeding mode.... Good luck

Have you tried feeding one and after its almost gone down the throat you insert the "Main Meal"?

    Re: Small Success

I'd rather try to get her to eat on her own first before I try putting meals right into her mouth. She's eaten 2 hopper mice total for this week. I think in a few days I might try an adult mouse and see if she takes it. If she does, I'll bump her back up to small rats but I'll try live this time. She wasn't giving me this much trouble on live. Soon as I switched her to f/t she got picky.
