    new incubator project

    ok i have been looking forever to find one of these and finally got one i have some questions how much heat tape should i use in this i was thinking 2 strips of 11 inch top to bottom whick would be about 10 to 12 foot also im going to be using a ranco therm for now

    1.1 09 pastel
    1.0 08 blonde pastel
    1.0 09 black pastel
    1.0 09 bumble bee
    1.0 06 het pied
    0.1 05 dh pied/albino (6 hatched healthy babies)

    I would say start with less and see what the temps are like, you can always add more. Im also looking for one of those man they are hard to find. Congrats and best of luck

    thanks im very excited about this i had been looking for so long for one and had gave up and got the next best thing a full size black refrigerator and started then found this so gotta find someone thats wanting to biuld one out of a fridge

    I have a Pepsi cooler that I made into an incubator(about the same size as yours) and I used 4 foot of 11 inch. It is plenty of heat for the project. In the begining I though I had to use a lot also. Trust, you will be fine with 4 foot. Let us know how it works out. Using a lot of heat could cause serious problems if you have a thermostat failure.
